TATTOO STUDIO's
| REPAIR, COVER UP &
RESTORATION INFO
Too often in our
industry, we meet clients who are less than happy with their existing
tattoo work. Although Voodoo Tattoo Studio guarantees all work, many
establishments and tattoo party artists either do not guarantee their work
or are not capable of correcting their own mistakes.

Silly Dragon to Scary
Dragon -
Jessica is a lovely girl
who got an inexpensive tattoo at a local tattoo party.
Unfortunately, the fierce dragon she'd hoped for turned out as a silly and
juvenile dragon (as seen in the "before" photo below).
With freehand design, LEX was able to transform the offending tattoo into
a fierce design Jessica could be proud to wear. Jessica's beautiful
smile says it all.

Another issue of
contention is the method of cover-up/repair: those without imagination (or
technique or experience) often advise these clients that something big and
black is the only solution in most cover-up/repair situations. For a
large percentage of clients, this is just not true: clever design and
placement can transform what was once not much better than a scar into a
new and beautiful piece of body art.
Amateur to
Professional -
Like many clients, when
Kellie was a minor, she got the tattoo shown in the "before"
picture from an amateur artist/friend. MICHELLE custom designed the
new tattoo that completely obscures the old tattoo without looking at all
like a cover-up.

Tattoo Rescue -
Sean is a true tattoo
enthusiast who commissioned another artist to begin a freehand tribal
dragon. Willing to devote half his back, shoulder and upper arm to
the piece, he was immediately disappointed with the artist's style and the
direction in which the piece was headed.

CLOSE-UPs:

After researching the
styles of many artists, Sean selected LEX to repair what had
already been done and bring the piece to completion.

That's A Cover Up? -
Matt had an old tattoo he
was never satisfied with, and was interested in getting a memorial tattoo
for his grandparents in the form of a bass scene with their initials
incorporated. This series of pictures shows in detail the cover-up
process and how effectively LEX used color (instead of black) to
accomplish the transformation.

TATTOO RESTORATION:
Tattoo restoration is sometimes
necessary for clients with older tattoos. Tattoo enthusiasts will
tell you: little compares with the euphoria of showing off a newly healed,
bright, sharp tattoo. Unfortunately, through the course of time,
what once looked sharp and bright can become faded and blurred. Some
clients are not aware of how damaging tanning and sun exposure can be to
body art. Whatever the reason, the artists at Voodoo Tattoo Studio
are experienced at the process of tattoo restoration.

Better Than Ever -
This client loved her
unicorn tattoo but over the 20 years since she'd gotten it, the lines had
blurred and the color faded. She told MICHELLE she wanted the design
updated to look more modern and complete. MICHELLE was able to
restore this tattoo to far beyond its original glory.
